Our History

Imagine . . . one Sunday morning in October of 1982 when 49 people met in a rented building with only a wood stove for heat and open windows for air-conditioning . . .

. . . growing to become today's Peninsula -- a vibrant, active, Bible-teaching Southern Baptist Church of 1,300+ members.

As a mission church of Southside Baptist of Mooresville, Peninsula began when a handful of faithful believers came together, called a pastor and sacrificed financially to provide a firm foundation. Since 1982, Peninsula Baptist Church has purposed to win our community for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Standing on His uncompromising Word, God has opened doors to make Peninsula a welcoming house of worship, a safe haven for families, and a light in our community.

Through ministries to children, students, adults, singles and senior adults, we seek to teach the Word of the Lord and grow in our understanding of what He desires of us.
